Waterproofing When Basement is Leaking
Added
December 8, 2006
Q.
Can waterproofing a basement floor be done when it is leaking?
A: Absolutely. The first step is determining where the water is entering. Just because you see water on the floor doesn’t mean it’s actually entering through the floor. You could have water seeping through walls and forcing itself out where the floor and walls meet. The interior part of your solution will most likely entail a drain tile and sump pump to remove this water and take the pressure off your walls. Depending on how the ground around your foundation is sloped, some exterior work may need to be done as well.
